What is Giclée printing?

Giclée (pronounced 'jhee-clay') is a French word meaning 'a spraying of ink'. Introduced in 1985, this printing system offers digitally produced art pieces of the very highest quality, and they have gained wide acceptance from artists and galleries worldwide. Giclée prints are substantially superior to the lower quality, mass-produced lithographic prints available.

SUPERIOR QUALITY - GUARANTEED

Giclée prints are produced using pigments rather than dyes, which results in brilliant colours that will last, rather than fade over time. The Giclée print process also uses at least six colours rather than four as used in traditional printing. This means that they produce subtle graduation in colour and tone, capturing every nuance of the original. Giclée prints look fantastic on a wide variety of papers including watercolour, canvas or fine art papers.

How much does it cost?

Under each mini image we’ve included a price range so you can see at a glance if it falls within your budget. When you click on your preferred format to see the different sizes available, we’ve also included the prices, the media types available and delivery information.

Can I send my own images or artwork?

Sorry but we don’t accept artwork or images supplied by customers.

What is ‘Showcase’ Or ‘Limited edition’ art?

Showcase category art is created exclusively by our ‘Showcase’ artists or photographers and the pieces are only available on our web site for a certain length of time. We offer these as either Original or Limited Edition prints; as indicated. Each Limited Edition piece is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity giving its unique number and length of the edition (e.g. 5 of 15 etc). The certificate of authenticity will also be signed and dated by both the artist/professional and by us. 'Original art' is produced by our showcase artists in their own chosen medium and size format and sold through our site.

If you are an artist and/or creative photographer and would like details of how to sell your art through our portal contact us for more information.

Do you supply frames?

Watercolour and Fine Art prints are supplied in a plain white mount for protection and shipping purposes. We do not supply artwork in frames – this means you can change to your heart’s content as your décor and fashions change.
